Carla K. Mills, CPA, MBA - Chief Financial Officer
Describe your responsibilities and how long you’ve been at the Archdiocese.
I have worked 5 and a half years at the Archdiocese, with 31 years of professional experience as a CPA. My responsibilities include Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, Internal Audit, and the Savior Pastoral Center.
Why did/do you feel called to work here? What do you love most about what you do? How does the Archbishop and other clergy leadership rely on your advice and decision-making?
As I grew and progressed through my career, I was also growing and progressing in my religious and spiritual practices. In corporate America you are called to buy into and support the company Vision and Mission. I realized that the Vision and Mission I was “bought into” was God as my top priority and building his kingdom on earth as my mission. I wanted there to be no conflict between my personal and professional visions and missions, so I was thrilled to be able to apply my expertise at the Archdiocese. I like to say that in the Church, hope IS a strategy. We know that with God, all things are possible. I love that this concept gives me the flexibility to achieve what others would not have the patience to attain. I also have a deep grounding in parish life and I love to help parishes achieve financial stability.
